images-1Over the last week I have had not one, but two pieces of very exciting news.  Last week I received a letter in the post to say that my poem, Reconciliation, had been selected for inclusion in a new anthology by Forward Poetry for their Poetry Rivals submit.  I may also get the chance to perform it at a ‘bit of a do’ and win a handsome publishing package…watch this space!

Having had a suitably ridiculous grin on my face ALL WEEK I then got another letter yesterday, again from Forward Poetry, saying another poem, Self-Harming, had been selected for their Obsessions anthology.

I can’t tell you how chuffed and proud I am.  For me, like most writers of any genre, having outside affirmation of your work is always encouraging and when it is from a publisher it makes it ten times better! I was having doubts about my writing and wondering if I was getting somewhat carried away with my aspirations. This has given me the confidence to keep writing, keep submitting and, most importantly, keep dreaming.
